Refratechnik Ceramics was founded in 2013 with the takeover of Burton GmbH & Co. KG in Melle. This third “sector subsidiary” of Refratechnik Holding GmbH now complements our portfolio with the ceramics industry business.

For more than 125 years, products for the tile manufacturing industry have been produced at the traditional Melle site. Decisive refractory technology for the industrial ceramics and the tile industries has been developed here since about 1955. Thanks to the established brand name BURTON^®, our company now has a worldwide reputation in this field. Also in future, the well-known brand will stand for top quality products. The two sites in Melle (Germany) and Sátoraljaújhely (Hungary) have already acquired a firm position in the Refratechnik Group.

Backed by an international network of representatives and dealers as well as our own research and development activities, we have become the world's No. 1 for tunnel kiln walls, tunnel kiln roofs, tunnel kiln car systems, and kiln furniture.
